I’m going to go ahead and backlash at the backlash. Because Obama  is fucking fantastic and I won’t stand for anyone rolling their eyes that this is just a political move, nor will I have anyone screaming that they’re never voting for Obama again.

Because the way I see it (and this is the correct way), both the natural rights that the U.S. Constitution is based on and the Constitution itself clearly states that all people are born equal and are equal under the law. This is written in English, motherfuckers, do you speak it? The United States is not a Christian country. If your legal definition of shit coincides with that shit’s religious definition, feel free to move to a theocracy.

If you’re one of those people protesting that this doesn’t mean gay people are second class citizens, you’re deluding yourself. Denying citizens a fundamental right – something you are entitled to have, not privileged to have – means that that citizen is somehow, lesser than “normal” people, who of course get to have that right. This is the exactly what it means to be a second second class citizen. 

And for the worst of all this fucking noise out there - everyone rolling their eyes at six months before election bullshit bullshit bullshit clearly have cognitive problems sorting out the idea of non-mutual exclusivity - just because something is politically savvy doesn’t mean it automatically lacks moral weight or authenticity. Does no one read anymore? Up, Simba, anyone? Don’t be butt hurt because Obama is smart enough to spin his beliefs into political gold and still flawless enough to be truly genuine about it.

Don’t be so jaded about politics, little ones. Cynicism looks terrible on people who are not unsuccessful writers. Fight for something you believe in. Politics matters.
